Warsaw's Old Town Market Square -- Probably the #1 tourist destination. The Mermaid of Warsaw (with sword and shield) is a centerpiece of the square.

Castle Square (Plac Zamkovy) -- The base of Zygmunt's Column to the left, and the Royal Castle (with Zygmunt's tower) to the right. Bombed and burned by the Nazis it was blown up by them in 1944. Reconstuction lasted from 1971 to 1988.

Łazienki Park

Łazienki Park - The Palace on the Water, commissioned by King Stanisław August Poniatowski and completed in 1793 just before the Third Partition. Slated to be blown up by the Nazis as they withdrew from Warsaw, it was instead burned -- rebuilding completed in 1965.
